I am not your regular artist.
I don’t fit the cliche “artist” mold. I am not depressed. I’m not recovering from severe trauma. I didn’t go to art school. I’m not a liberal. I don’t agree with the statement that “[art] is not about the result, it’s about process”. I might not enjoy making art as much as other artists, but it’s important to do, so I do it. My calling is a blessing and a curse.
I care.
I have kids, and so I have a vested interest in the future of the world they will grow up in. Art is important to not only the individual, but society as a whole as well. It matters to both the one who creates it, and the one who views it. Art can revitalize communities, and even inspire entire populations to greatness. In light of this, the apparent degradation of art in our society saddens me, since I know our kids will be worse off because of it. Therefore, I am on a mission to find, promote, create, and encourage others to create good art. Hence the name “art worth while”.
I have multiple disciplines.
I don’t just paint. I draw. I sculpt. I write. I photoshop. I design logos. I’m getting into stained glass, bookbinding, leather work, and welding. I have painted custom sneakers, done case mods on computer towers, and stippled pistol handles. I would love to do architecture as well, but that’s a dream for later.
I have goals.
I’ve got lot’s of ambitious goals, but right now the ones i have are simple:
1. Have one of my paintings hanging in a living room or lobby in each of the 50 states of America.
2. Be part of a curated art show consisting of artworks that are both deeply meaningful and beautiful.
I’m just getting started.
I paint on a regular basis. I’ve done murals. I’ve done custom work. With the advent of AI generated media, it is more important than ever to find good artists and support them, which is something I’ve recently begun to focus on. I hope you’ll join me in the mission to make art worth while.
